The military teach their personnel about the 6 P’s: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Usually, this makes complete sense as having plans in place helps you to navigate your way through the business world and have an idea of what’s coming next, but 2020 has proved that you can’t plan for everything!

Do your marketing planning for 2021

At the beginning of the year we all hoped that 2020, the start of a new decade, would be THE year. It was destined to be the year that had such a positive impact on people’s businesses and home lives, it couldn’t have been further from what actually happened.

Whilst most people’s business plans (and holiday plans) went completely out of the window in March, as we settle into Q4 we can start to make provision for and plan for what may come in the near future and next year, and it’s crucial that we give it our very best effort.

Is your website telling the right story?

Online is where it’s going to be for a while so make sure that your online presence gives the right impression.

Make sure that your website is search engine optimised and as up to date as possible. Check that each and every one of your page links work correctly, Google loves internal and external links on pages so be sure to look at your references to outside sources, are they still valid?

Is your message to your audience clear and concise, can users see immediately what it is your do and how you do it better or differently to your competitors?

Double check that your contact details are on there on clearly and accurately and that the forms and phone number work properly. The last thing you want is to create a negative user experience by visitors to your website having to search for the information they need.

Add fresh client testimonials

Are your testimonials still relevant, if you don’t have any from the last 6 months, it might be better to remove the date from them completely as testimonials from 3 years ago makes it look as though you’ve either not been doing anything since then or what you have been doing wasn’t very good!

Stand out from your competitors

Consumers of both products and services will have a great deal of online ‘noise’ to listen to, you want to ensure that it’s your voice they hear and for the right reason.

It’s not enough to simply have a website and a social media presence these days, you have to make sure that yours is the one that sticks in the minds of your audience. Your message needs to be apparent and it must, must, must be clear to users how they can acquire your products or services.

If you feel your online offering needs help and you’d like a guiding hand on where to start, get in touch to arrange a free marketing consultation.
