Blisters for charity

By: Richard Michie

On July 13th we began our walk for Simon on the Streets a Yorkshire charity which helps the homeless get their lives back on track. When we signed up, back in February, 24 miles didn’t seem like a long way.

Having now finished the walk from Huddersfield, via Bradford and then culminating in Leeds, we can confirm that it is a very long walk indeed! The sense of achievement at finishing the whole distance is huge, but not as great as the feeling of being able to help others who really need it.

Our aim is to raise £1000 for Simon on the Streets in 2019, from the walk alone we are currently on £360, so we have a way to go. If you can help us reach, and hopefully, smash our target that would be fantastic.

Update! Since we posted this we’ve received a very generous donation which has pushed us over our target to £1064! Time to set a new target for the year!

To make a donation please visit our Simon on the Streets Just Giving Page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/yorkshire-homeless

Please remember to add Gift Aid as it means the UK Government give an extra 20% on top of your kind donation. Here’s the story of the day.
