Cooking up a new website for Cake Bakes

A few weeks ago we won the website redesign for Cake Bakes an artisan bakery based in Castleford. It was especially nice to win this project as they are a local business which we’d actually used for before for a family cake, it was delicious too.

Move from WIX to WordPress

Their original site was created using WIX which was ideal when Cake Bakes launched in 2000 but meant that the site was now looking very dated, was hard to maintain and search engine optimise. We exported all the content and moved over to WordPress to create a whole new feel for the site while ensuring it worked on mobile devices as well as desktop.

Cake Bakes create beautiful cakes for all occasions but specialise in making amazing wedding cakes, the designs are what make the business stand out, so they needed a site which could show them off to good effect which optimising for speed.

The new site works on mobile as well as desktop and reflects the business well.
