Their hands-on approach means that we can get on with our jobs and be confident that the marketing is working as efficiently as possible.

William Ross

Commercial Director, Delamode International Logistics

Delamode International Logistics is a leading logistics company, with two operational bases in the UK and the Netherlands, helping importers and manufacturers bring goods from Europe direct to warehousing and distribution on Southampton Dock.

Delamode provides end-to-end third-party logistics (3PL) support, managing customers’ entire logistics process from inbound transport to final delivery, with no need to coordinate with any other warehousing and distribution company

Logistics Marketing

Logistics is a very competitive market. Warehousing and 3PL businesses can all look very similar, and their marketing can be very dull. To give Delamode’s marketing any chance of cutting through, we knew we had to ensure we didn’t follow their competitors’ lead.

When we approached the logistics marketing for Delamode, we looked beyond their state of the art facilities and brought to life what is on the shipping containers they bring in from Southampton Port and how that travels on to retailers and finally into the hands of customers.

How we met Delamode’s marketing challenge

Delamode came to us with a challenge – specifically, improving their organic social media presence on LinkedIn. They wanted to elevate the look of their page, develop a stronger visual identity and position themselves as industry and thought leaders in the logistics space.

The client also wanted to highlight the people behind their business, focus on thought leadership and elevate the company’s employer brand.

We’re working in a close partnership with the team at Delamode. Regular communications are helping us to create a strong digital marketing strategy that brings their business to life, while staying agile enough to react to changes in the market.

Logistics Marketing case study

This is how our logistics marketing support helped Delamode to manage their organic social media presence:

Social Media Audit and Competitor Analysis:

  • Performed an audit of existing content and metrics on Delamode’s social channels, identifying top-performing content and areas of opportunity.
  • Thorough analysis of the competitor landscape in the region and nationwide, identifying key topics, formats and mediums that perform well within the logistics industry and for this specific audience.

Creating a Visual Identity:

  • The Delamode group already had brand guidelines and established colours and fonts. The way these were translated onto their social media, however, was inconsistent. We created a bank of templates, following the brand guidelines, making the page visually cohesive, and their content consistent and easily recognisable for their followers.
  • We created mini campaigns with their own distinctive look and feel – Meet the Team, Blog posts, Event attendance and Internal Comms.

Combining Different Areas of Logistics Marketing to Repurpose Content:

  • We created robust, search engine optimised blog content on key topics within the logistics landscape.
  • Collaboration with key contacts from the business was pivotal to ensure accuracy and convey Delamode’s know-how.
  • We then repurposed the blog content into LinkedIn carousels, highlighting the staff members who we collaborated with for the blog posts. By putting staff members at the forefront of Delamode’s LinkedIn page, we positioned them as experts and made the terminology-heavy topics more accessible to their target audience.
  • By repurposing blogs, we ensure that a single piece of content works hard and is adapted across multiple channels to achieve the maximum impact.
  • The blogs got picked up by a leading industry publication – Socius24’s newsletter, and were featured there multiple times.

Shooting Behind-the-Scenes Content

Behind-the-scenes content enables us to show the authentic side of the business, without having to rely on stock or AI-generated footage.

Therefore, ensuring we have as many photographs and videos as possible is a key part of our logistics social media marketing process.

  • We continue to visit the Delamode warehouse in Southampton to capture on-site content.
  • When we can’t be at events, we support the Dealmode Team to film what they can and share it with us so we can edit and use it as part of the social media strategy on their LinkedIn page and website.
