Help us raise £1000 for Simon On The Streets this year!

This year, we’re embarking on a Simon On The Streets fundraiser, in another initiative to help the Leeds Homeless Charity. We’ve set a goal of £1000, and are already receiving kind donations from some of our clients.

We love our city of Leeds, and as individuals born in other cities, we’re proud of our adopted home. Like many major cities across the UK, Leeds has it all, from incredible restaurants, independent bars, music venues, shopping centres and a booming business sector. However, whilst rushing around or simply soaking up the city, it’s plain to see another way in which Leeds is similar to the UK’s other cities… the large and growing number of homeless people.

It doesn’t take a saint to look around you and feel that something must be done, and it doesn’t take mother Tereasa to respond to a homeless person’s call for change, food or shelter, so why do so many of us not? (including us).

With the plight of the homeless so clear to see, The Marketing Optimist has had a relationship with Simon On The Streets since founder Richard started the business.

Previous fundraising

Starting in November 2016, Richard announced that instead of sending business Christmas cards, he was going to be giving money to Simon On The Streets, as well as donating an Amazon Echo Dot to their Christmas draw.

In September 2017, Richard took part in a sleep out for the charity, raising £760 for the homeless in Leeds. More recently, at our office Christmas party 2018, we sold Simon On The Streets raffle tickets, before announcing that 2019 would see The Marketing Optimist set a goal of raising £1000 for the charity.

We’re aware that we’ve set our sights high, but that’s just our style, and we’re confident that we can achieve this, with the help of clients, friends and the charitable citizens of Leeds. We’ll keep you updated in regard to our progress, and let you know about the activities we’ll be involved in, to bring you right along with us, on our Simon On The Streets fundraiser.
